Very Difficult Situation. It’s a long story, though, so if you’re not a reader, don’t open this.?
I have a group of friends at church, and we’re always together.
Then, there’s “Sally”.
She’s borderline retarded, laughs loudly and obnixiously, follows us around everywhere, even into the bathroom, tries to make jokes but they are totally unfunny, hugs us all the time without warning..Also, she’s 14 and she plays with dolls, goes to build a bear workship and watches barney. and her mom is a control freak.
We’ve told her she comes on a bit strong(we were lying, she comes on WAYYYY strong, not just a bit) but she won’t listen and she still tries to hang around us. My pastor, youth pastor, and some grown ups have been telling us to just not worry about it, BUT IT’S GETTING ON OUR LAST NERVE!!
Her MOM, without notice, randomly came to my house to tell me to be friends with “Sally”..It’s like everyone is forcing her on us
I REALLY NEED SOME WAYS TO GET “SALLY” OUT OF MY LIFE!!
Okay, I don’t want this to sound harsh, but if you are talking about going to church, you should be Christ-like, and accept everybody, just as Christ accepted all of us, even though we are all sinners. Instead of trying to get her out of your life, try including her. Teach her some jokes, and show her how to act more mature. If her mom is like you say she is, she has probably been very protected and doesn’t know any better. And if she has a disablility…you mentioned she is borderline retarded…then it is not her fault. Give her a chance, and embrace her. Church is where you are supposed to feel welcomed and loved in this world of sin and hatred!
I hope I don’t sound harsh, I am just trying to give the best advice I can as a devoted Christian woman. Pray about it, and God will lead you in the right direction.
Take Care!!!!
