unrealistic barbie proportions
Ok yahooligans, I need ya to pull thru 4 me w this essay :( ?

My 8-12 pg argumentative research (Final) paper is due on Thurs I chose the topic of why Barbie is a negative influence (just cuz I thot it was the most that could be said about it). So far I have 6 pages and need ideas for one more page.

Ive given examples of a women who transformed herself
Anorexia
Plastic surgery
attitudes little girls try to mimic
example of how the doll influenced someone i know
influence on boys
her unrealistic proportions
ive even offered view points from the opposing side and refuted them
and for the last page i’m going to give my experiences w the doll,

but i need to generate 1 more page of material, any suggestions? Nething i didnt miss or think to cover?

How about Barbie’s lifestyle? Things like her clothes (Barbie’s pretty skanky, I must say) and she inspires a huge amount of materialism (a gigantic house with an elevator, a sleek car, going shopping, etc.) Also there are issues in race, the most popular dolls are blond and white. Or, even things like Ken’s effect on girls. Perhaps some unrealistic body proportions on Ken’s part too? Or making girls think they should have a boyfriend, even at a really young age. You could address Barbie’s historic influence on addressing a woman’s “place” i.e. Pregnant Barbies or cooking sets.

Hope I helped. Good luck!
