Penske truck rental: Insurance question.?
Hi, My wife and I are moving from MO to OR and we rented a Penske truck and tow-dolly,for the move. I have just checked with my insurance co. and my credit card and they will not be covering the Penske truck and dolly and they all recommend that I purchase coverage from Penske.
Ok, so obviously I want insurance, but how much will it cost me? I am assuming Penske will be more costly if they offer their own insurance, but are their any outside companies that offer insurance for these trucks/ moving/ commercial type vehicles… something reasonable in cost?
If anyone has any info to this regard, I would be very grateful.

You are correct that your auto insurance, and credit card will not cover commercial trucks.
Your rental contract should include a minimum amount of insurance coverage, but I would suggest that you price Penske’s Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). It offers you up to one million dollars of coverage if you are involved in an accident while driving a rental truck. To inquire either ask your local Penske agency, or call their corporate office at 1-888-990-5415
PS: This nis a moving tip from a former professional mover. Load your refrigerator FIRST so it is in the front of the truck.
