How come theres not female genitalia on ancient art statues?
NOT that i want there to be…but i recently went to italy, where they had the most beautiful statues! i went to florence, rome, and the vatican. and there were tons of goregeous statues. lots of them were of full naked men (in very good detail might i add!) and the women just had theyre breasts showing, but the rest of their body looked like a barbie doll….like i said, not that i wanted to see stone vaginas all day, the question just popped into my head, and i didnt want to ask my tour guide because it was a hott guy! (how awkward!). do any of you know?
even if theyre legs where together wouldnt you still be able to see the cameltoe?
It’s because the sculptors made the statuettes with their legs closed and they tended to make them with thicker thighs. So thicker thighs that are “closed” is going to hide their genitalia. Now if their legs were spread, I’m sure you’d see their genitals.
*I bet if they were “skinny” statuettes you’d see the cameltoe, but as you probably saw on your visit, these women were carved to show them carrying more weight (same as their paintings)
