Should I report this insurance claim given the circumstances?
I live in a gated apartment complex. We have a motorized security gate for cars to go through. About 7 months ago, my gate remote stopped working and I was told I would have to wait until the new system was installed before I could get a replacement. So I have been parking in the parking lot outside the security gate since then. Tuesday I was laid off from my mechanic job and had my tool box in my car. It weighed about 200 lbs so carrying it was out of the question. I was waiting for a friend to bring a dolly over so I could get the tool box into my apartment. But last night someone broke into my car and stole all of my tools. My question is should I report this to my insurance company because even though it was no fault of my own, I was parking outside the security gate and according to my insurance policy, I am supposed to be parking inside the gate.
Try to deal it out of pocket, otherwise insurance rates will go up much more. You can check how quotes will change here – autoinsurance.maclenet.com
