Debussy piece for a 14 year old?
I am 14 years old and I have been playing the piano for 8 years. I have had a bad year or two bit I am still fairly good. For a better indicator of my level, I have played Beethoven’s Sonatina in G and the Spinning Song by Ellmenreich. I am looking for a challenge (but still feasible) and I thought maybe I would like to play The Snow is Dancing from the Children’s Corner. Only about two weeks ago I picked out The Sick Doll, The Doll’s Burial and The New Doll by Tchaikovsky but they proved not to be such a big deal.
Hi. I also play the piano. In my opinion, you can say that you have achieved a performance only when you can play Chopin. Debussy doesn’t seem that difficult. Here you are, try to learn this piece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa0Z6g1XJkU Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin I love the beginning Or this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLQ-6_OIds4&feature=related it’s called Valse Brilliante. You said that you wanted a challenging piece… I know you were asking for a Debussy piece but his songs are not that hard. They are beautiful, though quite easy to play. If you just want a hard piano piece written by Debussy.. you could try the 1st Arabesque: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbaLOJv888A Good luck!
