The fun part was when the TV bounced down the stairs. Moving day nightmares?
Actually, I wasn’t moving out of my place when the 190 lb (86 kg) 34″ Sony Wega slipped off the dolly and banged down five wooden stairs. I was just taking it to be recycled because it doesn’t work any more. This happened about a half hour ago. Yes, I was foolishly trying to move it myself.
There are now two deep, permanent gouges in one of the steps of my back stairs, deeper than any that have been inflicted on them in the 80 years this building has been around. Funny, none of my neighbors came out of their units to see what the racket was.
Anyway, let’s hear your tragic tales of moving day mishaps. It might help ease my bruised ego.

my last move, it was a Friday, I had been up bustin tail all night on the grave shift then came home packed some more which took all day, went to dinner, came home and drove an hour then hauled everything up 3 flights of stairs, all told it was about a 37 hour day from start to finish……was very thankful for the help and a couple days later took my helpers out for a very nice steak dinner, which more than made up for the endless moving day.
Then there was the move, years ago, where I went to work and when I got home the then boyfriend had taken all my books to the…..wait for it….the dump!!!!! I should have killed him…….but wept bitterly and never forgave him for that, among other atrocities….
