LOOKING late 60′s rag doll pattern – mod doll? from ladies mag. Mini Dress, long legs/arms daisies on cheeks?
Mom made her for me for Christmas 1968 or 1969. The pattern was in Better Homes & Gardens or that type of magazine. Her legs were made of mattress ticking to resemble stripped tights, she had long braided yarn hair, embroidered features, including daisy on the cheeks and a plumpish body. I lost her in a move in the early 1980′s, and have missed her every since. If you know the magazine, or have the pattern, please help! Mom and I want to “remake” her. Thanks! Brenstyle@gmail.com
Can’t help with that one specifically — but have you seen some of the patterns here: http://clothdollpatterns.com/Patterns1/ — you may find something you can fake it from. Your description made me think of some of the early elinor peace bailey dolls: http://www.epbdolls.net/About.html (try to find her book, Mother Plays With Dolls: http://www.worldcat.org/title/mother-plays-with-dolls-and-finds-an-important-key-to-unlocking-creativity/oclc/21376478&referer=brief_results — you should be able to get it on interlibrary loan.
