My Sister’s Afraid. What Should I Do?

My younger sister is afraid of many things. She’s afraid of clowns, scary types of dolls (voodoo dolls, rag dolls, etc). She’s also afraid of everybody in the world turning against her and abandonment, which is obviously not going to happen, because she’s extremely nice to everyone she meets. She also thinks of pending death, to her, to me, to my parents. She also is frightened by scary or sudden noises, such as pop-ups on a computer, the sizzling noise of acid, and the mandatory television emergency broadcast test. In my opinion, she really has nothing to worry about, but she lives in fear. I told her I can post this for her. What should I do, I don’t like seeing her this way?

Well, i would like to know more but i was just like her when i was little. i refused to sleep in my room, i would go and sleep at the foot of my mom’s bed because i was afraid of the dark,boogie men, monsters, ghosts, and other creepy crawlies. So, my mom got me my protector. His name was mr. bearsy, he was a giant stuffed pillow who would scare away all the bad things and keep me safe. (between you and me and your sister, i still have him )So i’d look for soemthing soothing that she can carry around, something that can calm her down. so i’d ask er, what does she like? and then get her something in that category so that whenever she feels a little scared she has something.

as far as the death thing goes and sudden noises, i would say that your sister might just have higher strung nerves then everyone else. I do too. If it gets worse, i might take her to a doctor to check her out. there’s therapy and medication for it. but really i think it’s the nerves so i would go with the protective item.
