What shall be position of India in 2020 ?

The present Congress Government is coming forward with an assurance that India would be one of the advanced countries by 2020 A.D. What are the basis on which these calculations have been made, only Government of India knows and the people have not been informed as per democratic set up in this country.
First of all we shall have to locate as to what should be the definition of an’Advanced Country’ and only then we can assess what is our present position and what position should be in the year 2020 A.D. We have already passing through 2006 and this year is on its last legs. We have got thirteen years with us till that date we shall have to ensure that there is no one who is illiterate and unemployed because till a man is illiterate and unemployed, he cannot say that he belongs to an ‘advanced country’. All our efforts in these two fields have failed because we cannot give proper education to our people and figures in registers of Employment Exchanges give us the impression that only one out ten people coming out of schools, colleges is getting a proper job and the remaining nine are rotting in the Live Registers of the Employment Exchanges. At times we are launching education schemes and we give some knowledge of three Rs to our people and we start counting them as educated people and if such people shall be there and we shall call our country as an advanced country, then we should be sorry and we shall cut a sorry figure in community of nations.
Our charitable schemes indicate that still our people are not getting minimum needs of life and most of them are without a house, without proper food, withour proper treatment, without proper clothes and most of them are found begging in streets, on roads and at bus stands and railway stations. People are not having proper facilities at their houses and that is the reason they have already turned this country of us into an ‘open latrine’. People coming from abroad note these weaknesses and when then go back in their own countries they give such accounts to the people who had not visited India..
We shall have to note here in India one man earns and at least five people live on that earning. All others are dependant upon that earning person. The things do not end here. There is a large number of Sadhus, Socalled Sants, beggars or the like who are also dependant upon the earning people in this country and at times we note that these people are turning more rich than the people who are actually working and earning for them. This is the mismanagement in this country which is allowing one big part to live on the earnings of those small groups who are earning and working for the nation.
We are still short of living accommodations and most of the people are houseless or are living in jhugis and are found lying on foot paths. We have been informed that a large number of people die of hunger, heat and cold because they are not having means to protect themselves. We have also been informed that a large number of people die each year only because that they could not get proper treatment. Some die of starvation and some die because their sons and daughters are not maintaining them when they are infirm in oldage. There is no social security and when we find that some of the states are giving some dolls to old and infirm people and the amount is so small that with this amount only one cup of tea could be consumed on each occasions. Our state is not in a position to maintain this large number.
We have noted that a large number of people are wearing rags imported from other countries because they are not in a position to purchase new clothes. Under these circumstances, if the space goes like this, we should not declarte that we shall be one of the advanced countries by 2020 A.D. The people who are declaring such assurances must tell the people as to how they shall be solving all these problems of the people of this country. The system of these false slogans should be avoided because such slogans shall be bvringing more frustration in our people who are already frustrated and some of them have stated saying that they were better placed in times of the Britishers.
