What do I do with a product idea?

I have an idea for a product that i would say is in the same family as a bumper sticker, keychain or sillybandz. So I have this idea for a product I have never seen before, and I don’t have the money to patent it. What do i do? Should I be contacting someone to help me out? Make a prototype? Take it to manufacturers? Take it to companies? Please help me out with what I need to do, because this is potentially a multi million dollar idea. I live in the southwest if I should be contacting people locally. Please Help!

go to the library of congress website and secure your copyright before you do anything. it is inexpensive and will protect your idea. after that, seek marketing through the usual channels. good luck.
