porcelain doll foundation
How do you get a dewy make-up look?

I want to know how to get that super dewy look for my face this coming year but I don’t exactly have the same sort of face like models do so could someone help me out here?

I have Porcelain skin with a peach undertone. But my face isn’t completely smooth, I have sort of peach fuzz that you can’t see unless I put powder on my face, then all of a sudden I look like well, a peach! Lol. Anyway Everyone always says I look a lot prettier with no make-up on because my skin is pretty clear and foundations cover up the peach undertones, then I look like a china doll, I have dark eyelashes naturally, but sometimes I just want to look different.

So how do I get a dewy look without much foundation or powders? Thank you!

okay, so you basically have two options: one, you can go out and buy tons of different highlighters and illuminators to try and create a “glow”; or two, you can pick out just a couple of simple, easy-to-get products that will bring out your skin’s natural sheen. from reading articles by beauty experts and from lots of personal experience, option number two is a lot easier, cheaper, and prettier:)

i get very similar results when i apply powder foundation: it washes me out, and looks fuzzy. so i’ve found that the best way to even out skin tone without completely covering it up is to use Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. it has SPF 30 to help protect your skin from the sun, and you can find it at an affordable price at just about any drug store. and the best thing about it is that it’s absolutely perfect for creating that “dewy” look. it has a little shimmer in it that catches the light without looking fake.

to really bring out your natural glow, add some peach blush to the apples of your cheeks (with your fingers), then blend up your cheekbones toward your temple, in a C shape. i recommend using CoverGirl TruBlend Naturally Luminous Loose Blush in Shimmering Sands; you can find this at most drugstores for around $8. it will bring out your peach undertones in a very pretty way, giving your a healthy, slightly-flushed look. stay away from bronzers; those look better on more golden complexions.

finish up the dewy look with your eyes and lips. use a brown, not black, mascara on your lashes, two coats on top and one on bottom, to open up your eyes (curl them first if your lashes are naturally straight like mine). if you want to wear eyeliner, keep it simple by applying a dark plum or brown pencil liner inside your upper and lower lids; pull your lid away with your finger so you don’t poke your eye. the effect makes your eyes look naturally defined, instead of lined. finish with a swipe of light, shimmery cream eyeshadow (like Too Faced Lockdown Ultimate Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow in Jailbait) across your lids and some peachy lip gloss that complements your blush (try Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Guavagold).

good luck, and hope this helps!!
