Which is better: Ivy or Iris?
I love both of these names for a girl, and I keep changing my mind. Although I like Iris, (especially the googoo doll song) It can, and does look grannyish and old-fashioned, but then again was a greek personification of the rainbow and messenger of the Gods.
Ivy sounds pretty instantly, and is the green plant, it’s quite an uncommon name, but don’t want her nicknamed ‘poison Ivy!’
In your opinion, which is best and why?
definitely Iris! This is the name I will be giving my next baby if they are a girl. Gorgeous. So earthy and pretty. I have a little girl named Autumn Wren so trying to keep with that kind of feel. I think it is really unusual and very cute. Ivy is nice but there was a tv program that had an old lady on called Ivy and she was horrible. So kind of reminds me of that! xxx Good luck xxx
