Is it fair to judge one’s sexual orientation by the music they like?
I just accidentally posted this in the wrong section, so I’ll ask again. I told a co-worker today that I loved the song “Paper Planes” by M.I.A. and she remarked both that it was “so gay” and that “only a c**k knocker would like that song.”
So while I know it was a stupid remark and I think she has the intelligence perameter of an armadillo on smack, still it remains that I “am” gay (but she doesn’t know that for sure) and I “do” love that song. But, like I said in my misplaced post, I also like “Moonlight Sonata in C# Minor” and Ministry’s “Jesus Built My Hotrod”. Does liking those songs make me obviously gay? It’s not like I was prancing around to The Village People. Oh, and one day I remarked I liked “When I grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls, and she was like: “So you want boobies?”
So do you think one’s musical tastes are indicative of one’s sexual orientation?
Um.. why do you listen to this woman? She sounds like an idiot lol.
The song “Paper Planes” is on all the channels every 10 minutes because of the Pineapple Express trailer. Everybody knows that song now and it’s on of Billboard’s Top 10 Hot 100 Tracks. So, if that’s true, everyone is gay (which is an entirely different conversation for some people, lol)
Anyway, so what if you like music some people think is “gay music”. It doesn’t matter because you like what you like and you are who you are. Think of being gay as a good thing, so if you naturally fit the stereotype, then you clearly must be awesome. Rock on, brother!
