Mirror, mirror why am I so ugly?
In today’s society, it s a fact that more women and at a young age, have complexes regarding their appearance. A month ago my eight years old god daughter comes to me with her Barbie. She starts comparing her to that doll by saying that her toy is prettier than her. First of all, no more Barbie for her. Secondly, I was asking myself why. Television plays a big part. The media projects a certain image that women have to follow. They are defining what beauty is. Women then have doubts of what their body looks like which leads to a lack of confidence and dangerous methods to be close to what they see in magazines and television. There are things that can be done in order to regain that comfort in them. First, they can do activities that they are good at to value themselves and make them feel that they are bringing something to what they are doing. An activity program where someone could exercise and eat right would be recommended. I suggest making a request at www.e-mayday.com
What is the question. You wrote a well-thought out piece of prose and ended it with an endorsement of a website. What makes you think that women who don’t find themselves attractive don’t eat properly and exercise already? Feeling bad about yourself in this society has little basis in reality. People compare themselves to women would are attended by a team of makeup and hair specialists. The photographs are airbrushed and digitally recreated for the perfect image. All of this is about the outside. Being comfortable in your own skin is what’s needed. So to answer the posted question, I am friends with my mirror even if it does have a wicked sense of humour!
