QX9770 for $300 USD worth it or not?

Ok so currently i have an i7 950 rig best computer i’ve had so far
but i want a home theater pc already have a LGA 775 mobo and a decent 8800 gts since i wont be gaiming on it the graphics are fine
and one of my friends is getting a i7 980x and is selling me his
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Yorkfield for 300 dollars i could probably get it for about 250
since ive known him for a while and it works great never OC’d so is it a good deal for
250ish? or should i just go with a cheaper core 2 duo
if i get it i will be overclocking to at least 4ghz maybe more depending on the cooling

for a media pc you need no more than a pentium dual core processor.

the QX9770 was always a processor made for CAD and other heavily multithreaded applications dont put it in a media pc you will see no difference in speed as the bottleneck in computers is the hard disk drive
