What US dollar exchange rate can I get in Taipei?
I went to my local bank here in the US thinking I would exchange US dollars for TWD before my trip to Taiwan. At my bank they offered an exchange rate of 0.037206 (TWD to US). That’s $3.72 US for every 100 NT. After looking at exchange rates on the internet this looked like a really poor deal. What kind of exchange rates can I get at the airport in Taiwan or even at banks there?
The rate they quoted is actually:
1.00 USD – 26.877 TWD
Not a good deal and that is without a $5 transaction fee.
It looks like I’ll have to make a small exchange at the airport just to get to the hotel. If I’m staying in Ximending where would be the best place to exchange?

You can just exchange a little at the airport ,others at the other bank in downtown Taipei.

You’ll stay at Ximending, each bank has branch office , I think these banks are not far from your stay place.
