OK, we live in a world where both sexes are supposed to be equal, so…………..?
- when I call a plumber, why it usually a man?
- when I go shopping at Tesco or SuperValu, why does a woman usually serve me?
- why are boys usually given toy cars and girls given dolls?
- Why was I allowed to pierce both my ears when I was 7, get a second pair at 12 and my belly button at 15, but my younger brother had to wait til he was 16 for a single earring hole?
- Why are there more female nurses than male nurses?
- Why are there more male doctors than female doctors?
- Why are there more housewives than “househusbands”?
- Why would a man wearing lipstick and a dress turn heads, but a woman with a tattoo and trousers be “normal”?
- Why are most judges, politicians, heads of state and other “rule makers” men?
Do you think equality is a reality, or just something paid lip service?
I think we are equal, but not symmetrical. Being equal doesn’t mean you can’t have differences. I hope we keep some of those differences, the sexes would be boring without them. If you say men are taller than women, that doesn’t mean we are worth more, just different.
