Baby Shower Gift – What should I give?
I just found out that my cousin is expecting her first child and I’m so excited for her, she is so sweet.
She and her husband are really ‘earthy’ people (which I think is great). They respect the planet/ very conservative – she is a vegetarian. I just want to give them a gift that respects their values.
but I don’t know what.
I could knit a blanket; is yarn bad? like, is there a special type of yarn that is more natural? or less chemicals or something? (but still soft
What if I hand made some dolls (if it’s a girl). I found a pattern online and it’s really cute. I could sew it by hand – but is the stuffing in toys bad?
It’s not a huge deal for me to give her something not mass produced but I just think it would be special.
Thanks for your ideas and opinions.
She is a massage therapist – has her own school
just thought that was interesting since you said she would love a massage
I think something handmade is always a great idea. I think that usually people with really strong convictions in certain areas understand that not everyone can always abide by them too. Even if you got them something that wasn’t “green”, they would still appreciate it. They can’t expect everyone around them to make the same choices about they way that they live as they do. It’s nice that you are trying to respect their way of life though. What about something knit with some nice organic wool or something?
