Can you make barbie/doll clothe using a knitting loom?
I was wondering if you can make barbie or any doll`s clothes using knitting loom?? I only have the blue circular loom and the long one for the scarf. I got some dolls here, especially barbies, and I dont like them wearing the same clothes over and over again, and I dont really wanna buy clothes so I wanna try making my own. So if you can please tell me, and if you know a link that shows how please share!
I meant to say can you make barbie/doll clothes using a knitting loom? not clothe..
You have to take the scale into account. On a Barbie, or any doll that’s smaller than a real baby, the yarn will be very thick in comparison to the doll. Even baby or fingering yarn is really too coarse on a loom for Barbie clothes. You might have better results just using felt and GLUING the clothes together. Use white or craft glue. My mother sewed clothes for my fashion dolls when I was a girl, and used felt. Regular fabric usually ravels too much, because you have to use tiny seam allowances.
If you make your own knitting spool, with very thin pegs set very closely together, you might be able to make simple sheath dresses for your dolls out of tatting thread or something similar to that.
You could probably make some wraps and stoles with a tiny knitting loom or spool and eyelash yarn.
