Can you give me information about my doll?
Recently i recived a Kewpie doll from my Grandmother. I am sure it is not an original Rose o’ Neill one. It has no visible markings oon its feet,back or neck. It is exactly one inch tall and is wearing nothing but a moulded on red faded hood. Its eyes are blue and are looking up to the left. I belive she is made of hard plastic and has mold lines along her sides and the bottom of her feet although she may be made of celluloid but i doubt it. If you have any information it would be excelent!! Elly
The original Kewpie’s were made of all bisque and have a paper sticker on the chest. But they have been making Kewpie dolls for all most 100 years now. she could be with mold lines composition, if the arms are filled with a hook, Hard plastic if they are hollow. here is a great site for looking up you Kewpie’s. You will need to type in Kewpie at the top and you will have plenty to look at. then once you get a feel for the era of your doll then you can look on ebay for others like yours.
