American Idol judges always say the song is “too old for you”, then they do Rolling Stones week. WTF?
I’m so sick of their double talk. They always do things like Motown week, and have “mentors” like one of the Bee Gees, Barry Manilow, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Smokey Robinson, Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, Berry Gordy Jr., Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond…….SERIOUSLY!?!?!?
To me “classic” reads as OLD!
They don’t mean the record is too old, they mean the sentiment is too old.
