average expenses/month in Houston?
hello dears!
i need to estimate my future expenses in Houston before I arrive there for studies.
Rent. I would like to rent a normal place for about 300 dollars however I hear someone say those are usually very bad ones. It is hard here to decide if it is good or not. It may suit for one and others have too high demands. Ok. I want just a modest but clean apartment with a washing machine, and refrigerator, furnished of course but it doesn’t have to be luxurious – how would it cost?
Are there families that allow foreign students live with them for free?
what is the weekly cost of car gas?
how much do i need per month for meals if i buy all the food supplies and cook myself at home. what is the cost of the internet? Do they charge on a monthly basis or for the time used?
electricity and water? or is it normally included into the rent cost or not?
How about entertainments? Cinema, theatre, stadium games, etc?
If anything else, please let me know !
If you want a decent apartment, or something, I would say about $500-700/month. And that’s just for a DECENT apartment.
Uhm, that would be up to the family. Like my house is 2 bedroom (with 1 extra guest bedroom) and all are occupied, so we wouldn’t be able to do it. But I am sure there are people who can/will.
That just depends how much you rely on your car/drive,
Uhm, once again, depends on you. Do you buy name brand, or store brand? How much do you eat, etc…
Uhm, internet depends on the provider. My internet is $30 extra a month to my phone bill. But if you go to let’s say T-Mobile, you can get their high-speed wireless internet that your just plug into your computer and your connected. My friend used that and says it’s great, especially if you travel a lot.
Uhm, if it’s not connected to rent bill (normally it’s not) I would say $40-100/month for water, and about $90-$120 if it’s just you.
Movie Theater’s are normally $10/show. As far as theater’s and museums go, it just depends on the show/museum. Games and concerts can range from about $10-$200. So that depends on how good of seats you would like.
