Any true GI Joe Collector: Is there any way to repair the reflective coating on the Sky series vehicles?
I have bought several sky vehicles on eBay that are mostly in good condition, but I am wondering any there is any good way to repair nicks in the reflective coating without – (a) making the problem worse or (b) making it look like an amateur tried to repair it. Please only respond if you actually have some of these vehicles and have actually tried a solution you are happy with or tell me something you did that turned out awful (just in case I get the same bright idea). Any true toy collector appreciates the normal wear on a toy. It shows that they’ve been loved and played with well. The only time restoration should be undertaken is when something on the toy is broken. The toy should be repaired by an EXPERT. The value of all toys goes down when cosmetic restoration has been done. And don’t forget…keeping the original boxes in as good a shape as possible makes the toys worth more.
