Where’s all the money?

ok i just saw the 2009 forbes list of billionaires and seen that there was a drop in billionaires and a total drop in assets combined within them. my question was wheres all the billions and trillions of dollars at? there not in the economy or being spent so where’s it at? did it disapear out of thin air? or is it because they were measured in their stock that decreased in value?anyway so it seems that there isnt enough money.. but yeah wheres all the money?

Its all just on paper. If you own shares of stock the value changes daily. If a stock goes from $20 to $10 you have lost money but no one else has it, your assets are just worth less. Same thing with a house. It may been worth $200,000 2 years ago and now only $150,000 so you have $50,000 less but who cares, unless you are going to sell
