Movie director lingo?
How can I film a movie? I know how but when I get there and begin filming the movie Ive been chosen to direct. What do I say? I’m dealing with key grips dolly grips producers cinematographers! Do I just say roll camera and the action? or is there more to say? Please help me with everything to check before I say action. Like words wise.
Depends on what your are using to shoot. Always need to check “Lights” Film or Video. [you might need to add a "speed" check.] You also may need to deal with sound direction as well. There is also the ever popular “cut” which is a big help when directing.
Best thing you can do right now, research beyond YA! Read, books, watch “making of” videos, get on a set if you can, maybe as an extra or an intern. If you are an adult, you could work your way to PA [production assistant] then you will have more of an understanding about the work of the director.
