What is the unofficial exchange rate for the Icelandic Kronur? (ISK)?
I assume that in Iceland right now the shops prefer Dollars, Euro, Pounds or Francs instead of Kronur. So what is the approximate exchange rate that I’ll get for my US dollars in Iceland? The last official trade was at 340 kronur to the US dollar, however I’m seeing it listed on google calculator at around 200 and same for yahoo finance. So what is the going rate on the street in Reykjavik?
If you walked into a bank in Iceland you’d get around 120 ISK for 1 USD. If you pay with foreign currencies in shops then they give you fewer ISK per dollar than in banks.
