Help identifying EEGEE doll?
I have a doll I was given as a baby in 1988. The back of her head is printed with illegible numbers and “EEGEE”. She has a molded head and hair and arms and legs, and a soft body. Closed eyes and painted pink lips. Wind up on back that plays music, and dressed in a pink and white onesie with pink hat with bunny ears. This was my favorite toy as a child and I’m very interested in knowing more about it. Thanks!
I wanted to take time to answer your doll question Eegee is an older company in the United States, I have provided some history for you.
The Eegee Doll Company was founded in 1917 by Mr. & Mrs. E. Goldberger in Brooklyn, NY USA, the Eegee trademark was first used in 1923. Early dolls were marked E G, Gold Doll Co., E. Goldberger and finally Eegee or Goldberger or (in a a circle) “TRADEMARK/EEGEE/Dolls/MADE IN USA”. They produced composition, latex, hard plastic and vinyl dolls.
They were originally called the Goldberger company. If you go to: http://www.dollreference.com/eegee_dolls.html
Have a great New Years
you will be able to see the dolls they have mad over the past 90 years
Your doll is from what as doll collectors call a newer doll, but take care of it and it will be come older one day.
You can see the later eegee dolls on ebay for sale and sometimes there will be one for sale mint in the box, and that will give you what she is called. You can set your search engines in ebay so that they will let you know when new ones come up for sale.
