how to make a room less…childish?
My room is a jumble of things, part nerdy/geeky,part “kawaii” (meaning I have a lot of japanese themed stuff,in this case),and part..well,random junk I get from sites and garage sales.
But one thing in it is very hard to miss when you come in-my old dollhouse.
Heres a pic of it:

what can I do to take away this dollhouse?I don’t want to get rid of it,my dad made it for me when I was little, and when I was little I would scavenge at garage sales to find this stuff and use my allowance to buy it-which,some of it,is pretty cool…There’s a little red jello cast in a mold in there that is actually squishy, and there are lamps that turn on,birds in little cages, mini troll dolls,ect.-This dollhouse is really special to me but its really embarrassing…I can’t put it in my closet (I can put the stuff in it,but I wouldn’t be able to put the dollhouse in it.)
What can I do to disguise it?
Maybe you could get some kind of storage box for all the small pieces and keep those in there, and use the actual house as a bookcase? Or keep one shelf to display the more special small pieces and then use the rest as a bookshelf? That’s what I would do…but then I have tons of books! lol Hope you find something special to do with it, that’s very cool that your dad made that for you! That’s something you want to keep to pass down to your daughter or granddaughter some day!
