
How Does One Get a Job/Training in Doll Restoration?
I’m 19 and in a local collage trying to pick a major. I’ve been having some difficulty picking a career, as my interests and talents are pretty over the map.
I’ve taken up a recent interest in antique Asian dolls and I’ve been thinking. I’m good at art, I like to work with my hands, and I adore antiques and dolls of all kinds.
I think doll repair would be a job I could not only enjoy but excel at. But I’m currently having trouble finding a class or a store I could possibly apply at.
I live in California in the East Bay, are there any school or classes I could look into?

I know nothing of the place but give them a call. I’m sure you can find business in the yellow pages too.
As for what to do to enhance this while in college – costume design/fashion design would work. You might also troll through some toy manufacturer sites (like the folks for Bratz or Barbie) and see what they require of designers – that would give you a starting point for what to focus your college studies on…
