doll pronunciation
What is the CORRECT pronunciation of the article “a” when used in sentence?

My friends are having an arguement about how to pronounce correctly the article “a” when used for example in the following sentences/phrases :

a toy
A dancing doll
This is a pencil.
It’s a meteor.
A new pair of shoes

Can someone tell me how should “a” be pronounced in each of the following above. Should it be pronounced as
“ae” (e.g. day) or should it be as short “uh” (e.g. apple)???
What are the general rules when this article is used in phrases or sentences??? PLEASE HELP. THANKS A LOT IN ADVAncE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace!!!

it is always pronounced ae, if it were uh, or uhn instead of an, we would use U’s to spell it.

that reminds me of another mispronunciation that gets on my nerves
ColorOdo instead of ColorAdo. there’s enough o’s in the name already, if we wanted more we would have put them in it.
