Anyone know a good and cheap musical for a high school?
My high school isn’t supportive of the performing arts at all. We don’t have a lot of money, so sets and costumes are recycled. Our auditorium holds about 200 people, if you can call it an auditorium. It’s really a debate hall with a hard-wood floor stage and no green room or dressing rooms. Our stage is at the same level as the house and we dont have a sound booth or anything technical.
In past years, we have done Once Upon a Mattress, Guys and Dolls, and Man of La Mancha. Anyone have any suggestions? We have a lot of local theatre groups that have done Once On This Island, West Side Story, Seussical, Godspell, Little Shop, and Bye Bye Birdie so we don’t have much to choose from. HELP!!!!!
Well High School Musical seems fun and it fits a budget perfectly because it’s about high school kids and it’s simple but really fun.
