Did people ever use dish soap bottles to make dolls?
I’ve always noticed that many dish soap bottles are in the shape of a woman’s body with a dress. Was there a time when they did this so kids could make their own dolls out of them? I think I remember Woolworth’s selling doll heads, maybe for that reason. Anyone make a doll like that when they were little?
I can remember seeing dolls made with soap bottle bodies, some had the plastic heads and hands and some were crocheted. Woolworth’s sold several types of heads, some of which were used to make porcelain dolls, if you look on ebay and amzon, com there are 2 book that can be found on making dolls from bottle, Lively Living Dolls and living dolls, both were printed in the 70′s so i assume that is when the craft was popular
The head is incredibly detailed and absolutely amazing for the soap dish!
