Okie dokie! Sooo what soft and furry thing or things did you have …?
that you slept with when you were a “lil pooper” ?LOL!!
Also, might you still have some wonderful soft furry thing that you had from your childhood that helped you to dream great dreams, or that you talked to and “taught” them things?
or that you shared tea or stories, or gossip with?
or shared your incredible sadness or anger with them, when life got hard for you?
did you ever sing to or for them?
can you please share?
My hubby’s eldest daughter..when she was little, would stay up all night…(didn’t like to go to bed!!) and she would talk to her dolls at all hours in the morning!
Since she also lived in other parts of the country, her dad being in the Air Force then…she would teach them “other things, and talk to them in other languages she had learned!”
what about you all?
What was/is your special stuffies or dolls or whomever’s name?
I have asked many friends and family about theirs…there is always a delightful story that comes from each person…!!
*grins*!
i wasn’t allowed much of a childhood because i had to take care of my mother. i had to be the adult and she-the child. i discarded all toys at an early age because i felt conflicted with my role in the family. i only remember one red headed doll that i kept for a short time but never ‘bonded’ with her, if you know what i mean.
the good news is that about 15 years ago, when i was doing some ‘inner child’ therapy, i bought myself a beautiful, white, soft teddy bear. it was part of my process of reclaiming my childhood and of nurturing my inner child. i still have her and she still means the world to me. even my 8 year old twin girls know they can’t have her, although i share almost everything else with them. i still get that ‘safe’ feeling when i hold her, which is everytime i lay down to sleep. a 43 year old woman who sleeps with a teddy bear. yep. you can laugh but she was there for me when no one else was.
great question. i enjoyed sharing this with you.
