What is an easy way to make a doll cake?
I want to make a cake for my little girl’s birthday party using a Barbie Fairy doll and making the dress as the cake. The instructions on all internet sites say use a “dolly vardin” tin – which I don’t have… the closest cake decorating store (about 40 mins drive) have tins for hire… but then I’m worried that the outside of the cake will burn and the interior be squisy… Is there another way to create the dress to look awesome without this special tin???? The lady at the cake shop said she’d make one, but it would be $65.00!! Ouch.
Bake a cake in a bowl to be the top of the skirt, and then bake two layers. When you stack all three, you should get enough height to put the barbie in.
I have a pan that makes the barbie skirt, and it has a long metal tube through the center to make sure the cake bakes evenly. Even then the outer edges of the cake are a little tough.
