does this show “The DollHouse” bother you, like on a moral type level?
i mean it’s a well done show, but just to see these people abusing (these other people), like in a way a million times worse than rape and torture, and then just acting all “high class, love boat, Dallas” about it, really scares me a bit … like they have no guilt whatsoever
i know the volunteers supposedly volunteered, but i dunno
and could a persons whole brain really be stored on a normal looking hard drive, like they imply?
The show takes a lot of liberties with science fiction, that is for sure, because although the human brain really is a supercomputer of sorts, there is no way to “upload” memory from a hard drive into someone’s brain. Not only do we not have the technology (currently, anyway) to do that, but the mechanisms needed to make this process feasible aren’t really featured well on the show.
As for the moral question, I think that is what is interesting about the show. There is no doubt that what the Dollhouse stands for is wrong. Making money off of “willing” volunteers isn’t exactly goodwill work. Sure, they signed up for the job, but I am positive it didn’t say in the fine print what they would be involved in (i.e. high risk situations, rape, etc).
