Convert Thai Dollars

convert thai dollars
What do they accept as currency at the thai airport as finance proof?

Do they accept THAI BAHT equivalent to $500 or they need actual $500 cash? Do they accept just an international Credit “and” debit card issued in UK? We are travelling from India to Bangkok and are a bit confused as we will have to convert Rupees to Dollars and then Convert Dollars back to BAHT when we reach Thailnd. It will result in too many charges.

Any suggestions?
Thanks so much! Much appreciated. I’d carry 10,000 Baht per person. Brilliant!

You won’t need to have $500 in your pocket as finance proof when you arrive,so no need to worry about that at all.Chances are 99 out of 100 ,you wont be asked to prove anything at all.

If you have Rupees, then just change some to Baht before you leave ,then you can have some Baht in your pocket to get a taxi or whatever after arrival.
You can change the other Rupees at one of the 1000′s of exchange booths around the city.Just make sure the bills are in really good condition or they won’t be accepted(They can be fussy as hell at banks and xchanges)

Alternative, just change the lot before you leave into Baht,no need at all to exchange from Rupees-$$ ,then Baht (Because your gonna be losing everytime you change currency) .

You can use your UK credit/debit card ,but your bank (Unless it Nationwide Flex Account )Will charge you for every withdrawal, also the Thai Bank cash machine you are withdrawing from will charge you 150 BHT,approx 3 GBPon top of that,so if you have to withdraw money from an ATM machine ,it’s good to withdraw the max amount (20,000Bht Per withdrawal) Or the fees start to mount up pretty fast.

Anyways hope this helps? ,and enjoy yaselves!
