Which way does the Normal force go?

for this problem @ c… does the normal force go upward or downward. Or does it depend on which body im writing for the force for. for example, FBd with car the normal force is going up, and for dolly diagram, there is a force going down?
The weight of an object is always going to be downward, the force exerted by the surface against an object on it will be upward. Which you use depends what you’re talking about; if you are talking about the force balance on the car, weight goes down and normal force goes up.
