Who opened the first dollar store?

My friend who has a couple of famous relatives said his grandfather opened the first dollar store and named it”The Buck Stops Here” I don’t know if he is lying.

The first dollar store in the country was started in 1867 (right after the civil war) by Samuel H. Dollar. He was frustrated by rampant inflation in the South in the wake of reconstruction, and decided to help out the poor in his community.
