Would your parents have cared if you had black friends (or friends of a different race)?
Because my friend told me she wasn’t allowed to have black friends and didn’t even own a black babydoll or barbie because her parents were so stuck up. My parents never cared who I hung out with unless they were bad kids. She said she isn’t racist but she doesn’t even have black friends now though because she knows she’d catch h*** about it even in her 20s.

Your friends’ parents are pretty common actually. I do have a white friend who has stayed by friend since we were little against all odds. She is friends with me despite the fact that her dad is a rabid racist. He also would never let her have a black doll so she had all these dolls with white skin and blond hair. It’s a doll, who cares what color it is!? She actually liked a few black guys and I think she would date one if she could find a black guy who liked her back. Her dad would probably disown her though, it’s sad. Right now she is 20 and dating a guy who is 35. He is 15 years her senior. THAT is more acceptable to her dad than a black guy apparently.
We are in our 20′s now and in all the times I have gone over to her house her dad has never spoken to me. This doesn’t bother me though, he is a bad guy to everyone, even his family. He beats his wife and is a mean drunk. He recently sent one of his daughters’ to the hospital he beat her so bad while he was drunk. I find most racists generally are like this. They are angry people who are scared of everything around them. They often turn to drugs to deal with their anger and depression which just makes them more angry and depressed. I hope your friend can branch out eventually, she is probably missing many opportunities to meet someone who can make her life better
