Another question for parents about toys?
Hi moms and dads!
Toy question for you…
I’m working on role play items for girls (dresses, kitchens, tea sets etc).
If you buy a premium brand of your child’s favorite character (Barbie, Disney, etc) which tend to be more expensive than generic toys, how much character art does you or your child like to see on it? Do you like a lot? A little? Somewhere in the middle?
My daughter likes to see a lot! I like to see a little. … I think a good compromise is like when you see a few big pictures. … Then it’s not too many pictures for me, but my daughter can clearly see that it has the theme she likes!
Example: My daughter’s Hannah Montana backpack. It’s purple and has a big picture of Hannah Montana on the back. But the material is like printed with several small purple Hannah Montana face outlines. … It looks creepy to my boyfriend and I lol.
My suggestion if I were on the design team for that bag … The big picture of Hannah Montana on back is fine. But instead of seeing her face all over the place, why not have 1 or 2 positive things written. (Best of Both Worlds” or whatever) and a few purple outlines. … Like on each side, a microphone with music notes coming out.
