Why are American retailers failing in China? (Barbie, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc)?
Mattel closed its flagship Barbie store in Shanghai this week. Best Buy suddenly closed its stores across China two weeks ago. Home Depot is shutting down its stores in China too (only 7 remain open). Restaurants KFC and McDonald’s are doing great in China, so why are American retailers failing? Is it because American manufactured goods have low quality and high prices?
