Power Wheels battery no good?

When i was little i got one of those power wheels things, its the Barbie jeep cruisin’ tunes 4×4. Its been sitting in the basement for about 8-10 years with the battery dead now. I lost the charger probably 5 years ago so i went and bought another one today because i am going to use the jeep for a L.A. project on advertising. I saw that my battery is a 12v (white) so i bought a power wheels 12v charger. When i hooked it in it flashed red and that meant it was a bad battery or the wrong one. By wrong one could they mean like an older model and there are no chargers for it anymore, or is it just so old that the battery has crapped out?

The older batteries can use the newer chargers or I should say about 30% of them can. Unsure of the white ones, but the grey and red ones can.
Most if not all the batteries have what part number the charger is printed on it to use.
Some batteries were discountinued ages ago and so were the chargers only after a very short time.
I would contact Power Wheels for a cross reference number of a charger that will work with your battery.
