Was there better fiscal control of government when only landowners(taxpayers) had a right to vote?
Imagine if your children had a right to vote how you spent your paycheck and used your credit card. You would have a house filled with Barbie dolls and video games. When you need to buy a new mini-van to haul the family around, they would vote for you to buy 2 convertible corvettes – they are too good to be seen in a mini-van.
What is the difference when people that pay no Federal or State taxes get to vote for the Big Spending Marxist Democrats?
I would not agree to only allow land owners to vote, but I would support only allowing productive members of society the right to vote. You must have a JOB, or be retired from a JOB. If you are on govt. assistance you don’t get to decide how money you have not contributed gets spent.
