Why are dolls these days only associated with fashion?
Why can’t toy manufacturers make other kinds of dolls for little girls to play with other than fashion dolls. Most of the dolls today such as Barbie & Bratz are only associated with fashion, hair, make-up & looks…. why don’t toy makers produce a wider range other than fashion ones… the only other kind there seems to be are baby dolls.
because dont you know every little girl should want to look like a barbie doll and care about nothing but clothes and lip gloss?
ok, sorry, had to get a little bit of sarcasm out of the way. i dont get it either. like, ok, barbie has been a lot of things in her time, you name a carreer, barbie has probably had it at some point, but the main focus is still, unfortunatly, the fashion aspect of it. which is indeed kinda lame. like, ok, yeah, there are some girls out there who will grow up and make a carreer out of fashion, but the rest of them are being taught nothing by these dolls really.
idk what can be done about it though. like, this generation of girls playing with barbies may be too far gone but maybe the next generation could be handed dolls that stood for something other than the importance of a good credit card?
im not saying barbie is bad, dont get me wrong with her. i had teacher barbie, and that grocery store barbie along with a couple others when i was younger. i LOVED the teacher set, it came with two little students and a chalkboard, it was great. more emphasis should be put on THOSE barbies
i hate bratz all together. they look like sluts. seriously, they are marketed at preteen girls yet they wear skirts that i wouldnt even wear and im 22. and the “makeup” on them looks like a 10cent hooker
