What was your favourite toy when you were growing up and what was it called?

And was there a toy you always longed for but never got?
I had a teddy called pogles, a knitted “golly” called pongo, and a teddy called pandy.My favourite doll was a baby doll called Cathy. But I longed for a Barbie doll and never had one.
One day I saw a ballerina doll that danced in circles and my dad would take me to see it in the shop window every week-I always hoped I would somehow get that doll but I never did.
I think thats why I never like to deprive my kids of the toys and games they want!Costs me a fortune!

what a lovely question…i had a cabbage patch doll.anyone remember them,it looked like a head of cabbage and when u open the top out popped the doll,she had shaggy pink hair and i called her polly…..ahhhhhhhhh the sweet childhood memories……….i was at a boot sale last month and seen one,bought it for 50p and gave it to my friends daughter who is 3,she loves it,it makes me so happy when i see her playing with it…..have a star Hun…x
