Ancient Greek Women Curvy?
I am looking for pictures of Ancient Greek Women who were obviously curvy….can someone please help me? Thanks a brunch dolls!
Um. Women weren’t supposed to be curvy in Ancient Greece. I remember reading something by an Ancient Greek (in translation and I forget where) about those decadent Etruscans who actually DINED WITH THEIR WOMEN — can you imagine?
The Kouros was a nude male. The Kore was a draped female, and even later, in the classical period, you would see women heavily draped. This first image is clearly actors playing women but still:

Notice the drapes.
I’m afraid for really curvy women you will have to look to the neo-classical period (Nineteenth century)

Or else the Rennaissance, Mannerism and the Baroque:

Here are some more, mainly women mainly from the Roman era but supposedly greek:

As I said, it’s only much later that they get the curves.
