Why, Dolly, Why???

Why does Dolly Parton have to screw good songs up? I mean, she has a lovely voice and all, but she’s become a joke! I listened to samples from her “Those Were The Days” CD on Amazon.com and she managed to make everyone of those classic songs sound terrible!
In some cases, she tries to sound “rock and rollish” and in others she tends to waaaaaaay overdo! She wants to impress her listeners so badly that she gushes and oozes and talks breathlessly in some of her songs. It’s like when she did a remake of her own song “I Will Always Love You”, she tried so hard to sound dramatic that she just ended up sounding corny and false! UGH!
Anyone else know what i mean?
