5 Things Puggle Puppies Teach Children
Many parents decide to bring a Puggle puppy into the family to teach their child responsibility or to offer an only child a playmate. What many of us may not know is that puppies teach children much more than responsibility or friendship. And these 5 things can help your child grow into a compassionate, intelligent adult.
1.Communication – Children are always talking to their stuffed animals or imaginary friends and the same goes for their Puggle puppies. The difference between their stuffed animals and their puppy is that the puppy can respond, although not verbally. Your child will learn to read the puppy’s body language and other subtle clues to figure out what he is thinking or feeling. The child will then carry this through to their human interactions as well and be better suited to interpreting communication cues.
2.Empathy – Your child will more than likely be concerned about how the puppy is feeling about certain situations. The curiosity for the puppy’s emotional state allows your child to understand emotions and what causes them, which, in turn, will carry over to human communication.
3.Nurturing Skills – While some little girls love to have baby dolls to love and care for, the care they give to them is not tangible. With a puppy, they can see the love and care they provide helps them to grow larger, stronger and happier. Ultimately, this will teach your child how to properly care for a living being, as well as teach them responsibility behind it.
4.Confidence – We think this goes for children and adults alike. Children are always being evaluated – either by grades, athletics or even peers. Puggle puppies have no expectations and no judgments. They are happy to just be with your child and have fun. This is an excellent way for your child to unwind and feel that unconditional love from another being.
5.Resilience to Change – As much as we’d like to think it won’t, traumatic things can and do happen to children. Whether it be the loss of a family member or changing schools, these things can be hard on kids. Having a pet that has always been there helps your child to cope easier in difficult situations.
A puppy that grows up in a household with kids is usually more social and dependable in new situations. The next time you’re considering a pet for your child, remember there is more for them to learn from their new friend than just responsibility.
