The twenty dollar trick!?
I had read about it on other forums. I guess, I have not tried it, but at check-in, either at the airport or at your hotel, discretly show a $20.00 bill with your credit card that you are using and ask if there are any upgrades available for your current rate at which you are staying there. Sounds like if they have availability and you hit the right desk clerk on a good day, you are upgraded to a suite! I haven’t heard of anyone doing this at the barbary coast, but from other posts the Alladin, Bellagio, and many others this has worked for. I was wondering if anyone had tried this at the Barbary coast with any sucess and what the suites were like!
I’ve heard of this for a lot of hotels. I think any hotel you go to you can do this, regardless of hotel or location.
I have some relation that run the hotels in Vegas and they have confirmed this for me. But if you go and ask for an upgrade, if it is available, they will give it to you. You really don’t need to pay them anything, furthermore I don’t think they are supposed to take the money. But if they have the room available, they will let you have it.
This is true for most hotels, however, if you go and they have another room available, they will usually upgrade you for free, or a small fee. You just need to ask to see what they have available and if you can get it.
